Hakim Archuletta UK tour (Feb 2009)
Following on from Hakim’s last visit to London, this event and workshop again introduced the concept of holistic health to the local community as well as allowing practitioners in the field to come together and learn from each other.

Discover the Silk Route - China Celebrated. (Nov '08)
This was part one of a series of unique fundraising dinners held in Central London. It was designed to provide an insight into the Alamiyah Institute and 'The Schools Project'. Filmed by the Islam Channel it was a successful event which provided an opportunity to network and enjoy an unusual evening out with family and friends. Hakim Archuletta UK tour ( May/June 2008)
In this unique tour by renowned homeopath Hakim Archuletta, individuals were given an insight into holistic health through a series of workshops and lectures. The topics covered included 'Traditional Medicine in our modern lives', 'Building a healthy community', 'Homeopathy, holistic health and the four humours', 'Reconnecting with ourselves and the world' and 'Redefining mental health and trauma therapy'. Quest Foundation Holistic Education Workshop (Mar '08)
Alamiyah Institute supported Quest during a follow up of the successful 'Educating the Young Child' conference. This two-day workshop was led by a unique mother daughter team who flew in from Canada for the programme. The workshop was based on their book Concentric Circles and focused on bringing holistic educational methods into today's classroom. Visit www.quest-learning. org
Celebration and Inspiration (Dec '07)
In this two-day event, working alongside the Barking and Dagenham council and with Barking Mosque, the Alamiyah Institute hosted an inimitable weekend of celebration with the community. The weekend featured live performances by nasheed artists, a martial arts group, a presentation by world famous photographer Peter Sanders and much more. The two day event brought to life the beauty of Islam for a diverse audience in order to build community cohesion. The event was well received by local community leaders and residents alike.
Calligraphy with Haji Noor Deen (Nov '07)
The Alamiyah Institute was privileged to host Master calligrapher Haji Noor Deen (China) who delivered an inspirational workshop providing students with an enjoyable hands on experience of a time honoured art of the pen. Haji Noor Deen has a unique style which fuses two of the greatest calligraphic traditions in the world, from both China and Arabia.
Prophetic Medicine (Oct '07)
In an introductory talk on Prophetic Medicine, Hakim Archuletta delighted crowds at Barking Mosque with his engaging and lively style which highlighted a return to the 'whole' sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) as the solution to the challenges we face as individuals and society
The Unity Fayre 2007 (Aug '07)
This follow up of the Unity Fayre 2006 lived upto the expectations of being even bigger and better by attracting a larger audience than the year before. However not just people were attracted this year, animals were welcomed with 10 donkeys topping the guest list.
Quest Conference 'Educating the Young Child' (Apr '07)
Alamiyah Institute supported Quest in the organisation of the largest Muslim educational conference in the UK held at Kensington Town Hall (London) and attended by over a thousand people. The conference offered a unique line up of talks and workshops from leading international voices in holistic education.
The Unity Fayre 2006 (Jul '06)
This was the first event of its kind, run successfully entirely through the efforts of volunteers. The Alamiyah Institute organised a distinctive family day out for the whole community who gathered in Valentines Park, Ilford. The Fayre featured a spectacular array of Islamic arts, including traditional 'nasheeds' ( songs) and martial arts from the Islamic world. Children were not left out with a fun filled activity zone whilst women were provided with extra special treatment in a grand Moroccan marquee providing salon facilities and prayer. The day would not have been complete without good wholesome food, a large souk circle bringing rare goods from around the world, stunning falconry displays and 'have a go archery'. |
